Default East Coast Malaysia in November?

Hi,

By bad planning on the airlines part I have found myself at Kuala
Terengganu on Nov 4th this yearfor a week. Any suggestions for diving
locations in the area around this time or does the monsoon season stop
all dive activity? Any ideas greatly appreciated! Thanks Alison.

I was on Tioman - nov 7-11 '2002. I was worried as well about the monsoon
and was going to go west coast, but thought why not 'take the punt'. A lot
of the dive operators had packed up and gone away for the monsoon, But I
went and didn't regret it. The weather was a bit unsettled but it was great
diving. Vis was down, but the place was deserted and most enjoyed... YMMV
of course :)

The town of Merang is not far for Kuala Terengganu. That's the
departure point for Redang Island, one of the best places to dive on
the east coast of Malaysia. For some it is better than Perhentian
Island.
Not sure if it is still diveable during that time.
