| Nick, Depends whether your island has a shop (worth checking). We stayed at the Full Moon Beach Resort, which had shop. Biscuits/choc etc were reasonably expensive, remember everything has to be shipped in. What you need foodwise will depend on whether you are Room Only/B & B/BB/AI. Personally we always take our own tea & coffee. We going again next year T shirt, shorts, flipflops, tea and coffee. (chocolate etc) I've been to the Maldives twice now (different resorts) and would advise taking the following items: * Mosquito coil/killer, bite cream and Piriton (some islands have rather nasty mozzies). * Sun cream (the stuff out there can be expensive). * Holiday insurance which covers you to the depth you are planning to go to (30m max in the Maldives). * A few good novels. * Shorts, t-shirts, a hat and flip-flops (you won't need much else). * A small bag you can take on the dive boat to keep your towels, spare clothes, etc dry. * Batteries if you are taking your dive torch. * Travel wash (in case you get the urge to wash anything). The best thing is not to worry too much and enjoy some good diving.. You can pick up some items in the resort shop if you forget anything. Nick |
