That was 5 in Komandhoo or Kuredu, and 10th in Vak.

Also considering Maldives for September/October.

Due to the cost on the islands going all inclusive seems to be the only
practical option. I know a couple why go to Lily Beach year after year (and
have tried other island - but go back to lilly beach). I have however seen
some good deals for Kuredu, but if you go here you will have to take the
seaplane transfer (think it is 5hrs by boat otherwise)

We go back year on year to Vakarufahli. We have been to others, but
Vak suits us. Lily beach has lots of concrete.......

We do not take the all inclusive option as I can't drink enough to
break even.

As for the Sea plane, well for lots of resorts it is the only way. You
could get to Vak by dhoni from Male, but it's 12 hours minimum.

This type of question seems to come up a lot, could I suggest a trawl
of the archives for even more information, or take a look at Jason's
web site.

If, after that you have questions, ask away.

A speedboat would do it in about an hour and three quarters. It took about
an hour and a half for us to get to Ranveli. We beat the people who took
the seaplane. There can be a lot of waiting around if you get the plane.
So for North Male, South Male or Ari atoll, I tend to take the boat. I've
also found with Kuoni that they often upgrade you for free to the plane
anyway as if most people have booked the plane, it's not cost effective to
arrange a boat.

I wouldn't dream of taking the boat to Lhaviyani, Raa, Baa or any of the
other atolls. I did it once to Kuredu, mainly because the travel company
lied about how long it took. Never again. Not that I would go back to
Kuredu anyway.

Looking to book next year's Maldives trip. Think I'm going to risk the
weather in June-July.
