Personally I get cold arms in a shorty after a couple of hours underwater, so I go with a 5/3mm suit. Lots of the guides wear 5mm full suits. Having been stung a few times by jellies, I'd say a 3mm full suit is the minimum I'd want to go in with, but then I do feel the cold.
