| Hi, can someone please tell me where the best dive locations are please in Mauritius. I'm not that experienced, I only have PADI Foundation, but would upgrade this if required to do some of the better dives in Mauritius. Any other Mauritius diving advice, like best centre's, diving hotels and maybe web links appreciated., Thanks Paul |

| I've dived there...it is a very weak destination for divers ..scattered coral and even less fish (lots of deadly stone fish--by the way--but they don't move around much..... so pose no danger to you -- unless you're incredibly careless where you put your flipper --) just why are you bothering to go to Mauritius.? Like the sound of the name -- perhaps? Or maybe you may be the first person who lives in your block who's ever been to an exotic-sounding destination like Mautirius? Whatever you do -- don't drink the water!!! Not Known wrote: > Hi, > > can someone please tell me where the best dive locations are please in > Mauritius. Sharks, turtles, Eagle- rays, dolphins, barracudas, all seen in a single dive! Some of the reefs are almost untouched, with wonderful fish-life. Pilot whales have been encountered (not by me, sadly). It depends where you go. I have sat on the beach in Le Morne and watched (through binoculars) whales "blowing" in the distance. Last year the dive-boat from Easydive had to take emergency action to avoid a large whale. Sadly it was about a month after I had gone home! I will admit however that some of the reefs near hotels can be overdived, or polluted. The beaches are usually excellent, many with good snorkeling. An excellent place to do your O.W. & have a nice holiday too. YMMV Pip pip (10th. time in Mauritius coming up) -- Chris Notton Replace "nospam" with my surname to reply by email Sostituisca il "nospam" con il mio cognome per rispondere }<////(*> |
