Default Cozumel Dive Op

Does anyone have experience with The Dive House located at the Fiesta
Americana? I'll be staying there in May and wondering if it would be more
"convenient" to just use the onsite dive op. Thanks.

Consistently ONE of the BEST DOZEN shops in Cozumel the past 17 years
I've been diving there.

Very nice big bosts Dive House I, II, III, IV. Tends to be on the
conservative side on dive sites and profile. It's dependably safe.

So, it really depends on YOU. Don't know you from Mr. Bean, so I
can't say whether Dive House is among YOUR top few choices.

Don't let the "on site convenience" unduly influence your choice.
Almost all shops can pick you up at the Fiesta Americana pier, and
drop you back there.

Yes, I've dived with Dive House numerous times.

I just got back from Staying at the Fiesta and Diving w/ the Divwe House for 6
days. they are a great operation and it nice and close to the hotel...just
across the ST. Asd for the dive site, if you want to do a specific one, just
ask and they will try to accomadiate you.

Def try and hit Devil's Throat...it's worth it.

Hi Mike (& the rest of the group ofcourse

short question: we're planning a trip to Cozumel in May, but it's difficult
to make reservations because I don't know when my boss will let me go. Is it
possible to hit the island and look for a place to stay or is it so busy
that reservation is needed?

Thanks in advance,

Leo

You should have no trouble if you have a week or two of notice. The air
fare will be the big issue. I've booked on two weeks and less notice
through Bay Adventures because they (and others) have bargain packages
including air. A lot of the hotels also have packages you should be
able to book on short notice, but then the air will be very expensive.

Sorry about your gear madam.

Tip: If one misses their shuttle, or just wants to catch a cab from the
airport, just schlep your gear out to the traffic circle past the little
guard shack and catch a cab from the curb out there. I do this
regularly because I rarely use a hotel shuttle. Also, private vehicles
can pick up inbound air passengers so long as the vehicle doesn't enter
the shuttle curb-park area. The parking lot just beyond the shuttles
works okay.

Yes, but I'm usually traveling with three women (mom, wife, daughter)
when I go to Cozumel, and "traveling light" is not an option <oww!
what'd I say?>, so schlepping us and our mucho equipaje out to the
street isn't either. YMMV. The hotel shuttle isn't that bad.

Still, I think that waiting until one is in the CZM airport to start
looking for a hotel is taking on a hassle that could easily be avoided.
