| It's been 18 months since we've been back to Cozumel. Are there any NEW restuaraunts worthy of mention? We don't care if they are cheap or expensive, we just like good food. Thanks. Mark Lindsey |

La Mission is my favorite based on taste (of course), portions, and price - very reasonable - especially if one is not partaking of the liquor. Pepe's is quite pricey but very good. Primo's was good - price was good and the coconut ice cream was fabulous! |

We don't care if they are cheap or >expensive, we just like good food. Two I found last month were Mesa 17 and Lobsteria. Mesa 17 is in the old La Cocay location, on Corpus Cristi Plaza, at Ave 25 and Calle 17. The couple running it were Americans. It appears they bought the restaurant intact including furnishings. He had worked as a chef in the Bahamas and Dominican Republic before they came to Cozumel. Food was excellent, very similar to La Cocay. Lobsteria is on the corner of Ave 5 and Calle 7, I think. The dining room is small, in a traditional building that had been done up very nicely (the place looks good). They had lobster tails wrapped in plastic, with the weight and price (in Pesos) marked, laying on a big bed of ice by the entrance. You picked one, and it could be prepared several ways. I had the "orange style", but it was more tomato and peppers than orange. Still, it was good. There were other menu choices too. Not new, but other favourites: Guido's - the fish is always excellent and the surroundings gorgeous Parroquia - for relatively inexpensive ceviche and other local dishes Mission "taco place" on Ave 30 - good food at a decent price beach place at Chen Rio (half way down east side of island) - good ceviche and fish, what a location! -- Remove preceding and trailing X from username for replies (Sorry, but I'm SICK of spam...) |

The last is a bit of a walk since the street is all torn up, but worth it. -- dillon "When the French are against it, you know we can't be far wrong." - Adm. Bobbie Ray Inman |

Quite good, very reasonable. Just run a Google search and you'll get some reviews and descriptions. |
