| Joe, I would go but check hotel availability first. It is problematic. Here is one reference. http://www.cometocozumel.com/english/wilma/default.asp Ron Lee Joe English <joeenglish@isperhome.com> wrote: >My wife and I are contemplating a dive trip to Cozumel. But they still have one black mark in my book: "That means that everyone in the group must come up together, hopefully lead by a divemaster that has deployed an inflatable marker." http://www.aldora.com/driftdivingcozumel.htm Plenty of dive ops in Cozumel will let you ascend on your own or have some other procedure in place so that your dives aren't limited by the lowest common denominator. |

First of all, who dives tables on Cozumel ?? I believe with most dive ops...guide/DM deploys a marker, heavy breathers ascend, you ascend with your buddy at 500-700 or so. |

True. But that was when Greg was a Clueless Newbie in Coz, as well as in diving. And for the REASONS Greg gave for his slam of Aldora, I awarded him the title of "Anti-Aldora IDIOT", as Ron Lee had the title "Aldora IDIOT" for years already. > I've heard that when I dove Aldora, Dillehay was absent. Perhaps things are > better now. The presence or absence of Dillehay was entirely irrelevant to the issue raised. > But they still have one black mark in my book: > > "That means that everyone in the group must come up together, hopefully lead > by a divemaster that has deployed an inflatable marker." That's in part because MOST of the Aldora fans were Aldora IDIOTS, and they suck -- literally, as in "air sucking pigs" of which Ron Lee is the champion, both as an air sucking pig AND an Aldora IDIOT. That's why Aldora give them the 120 steel tanks so that some of them can last almost as long with that tank of air than I last with an AL80, diving to 200 fsw. The one-up all-up policy is Dellehay's self-protection for someone like ME diving with their 120 steel and lasts more than 2 hours in the dive when the Aldora IDIOTs are out of air in 30 minutes. > http://www.aldora.com/driftdivingcozumel.htm Aldora has plenty other nonsense policies catered to Aldora IDIOTS. > Plenty of dive ops in Cozumel will let you ascend on your own or have some > other procedure in place so that your dives aren't limited by the lowest > common denominator. If you think that's bad, just think about having a dive computer for your own dive, and are then told that the DM's dive computer dictates the limits in all dives. That's not only stooooopid (according to any expert on using dive computers that Rule Number 1 is that you should NOT use someone else's computer/profile for your own dive), that's outright UNSAFE. But Aldora IDIOTS, of whom Ron Lee has appointed himself to be the spokesman, the brag has always been "long how much longer I can now dive on one tank!" or some other equally ridiculous excuses. -- Bob. |

Feel better now Bob Ling. I have a suggestion Bob Ling. Go through all your postings and determine how many times you use the word "idiot" or "idiots" and based upon total number of posts (which you seem to use as a measure of your self-esteem), calculate your idiot/message ratio. Aldora ascends as a group. And they were, at least when I dove them, very proficient at the "Mexican" drift dive (a term I recently heard on a dive boat in Kauai). On one dive, the Aldora DM actually wanted the entire group to hold hands and fin together against a strong current. Google "aldora sucks" for more information. |
