Default Diving around Cancun.

I have been to Cozumel twice and loved the diving and had a good time at the
Iberostar since it wasn't one of the giant hotels. A/c sucked though. Is
there decent diving around cancun? Where is a good place to stay that is
all inclusive and not a giant hotel? Ball park price for flight and room
for 2?

Thanks,
Jason

Not even close to Cozumel quality.

Why all-inclusive? Cancun does have some nice restaurants. It's not as if
you're going there for the diving so you might as well eat well.

From Timbuktu it's a mighty expensive flight. Room for 2 ranges from $26 on
up. Hope that helps.

IIRC, there is no ferry from Cancun to Cozumel. You can take a
bus/taxi/van to Playa del Carmen and take the ferry over from there
(see http://www.great-adventures.com/dest...o/cozumel.html)

Is it even worth going to Dive? If not, how long is the ferry to Cancun
from Coz. We have a friend there so we want to at least see him once or
twice.

The ferry is a nice adventure if you only do it once. Invite your friend
over to Cozumel if you must see him twice.

I doubt I will dive again in Cancun since I don't foresee myself ever going
to Cancun again, but if I were forced, I'm the type who would rather be
underwater than on the beach or golf course if that's a reasonable answer
for you. Of course it's always a tossup between the bar and underwater in
lousy dive locales like Cancun and Cancun has some very nice bars.

You can also drive a rental car.
