| Current plots have Emily headed directly for Cozumel, arriving there in 5 days... Maybe Florida will skate by *this* one... Maybe Texas will get some rain from it -- they really need it... |

But our water bill for June was horrendous. I'm keeping the thermostat at 83 during the day and wearing shorts and t-shirts unless I've got a customer call. Heading to Travis in a little bit. We've got an evening dive and fireworks show planned at Windy Private. -- dillon Linux, it's not just an OS, it's a way of life. And a damn fine one, at that. |

I was there last weekend and it was GREAT!! Seas were practically flat. Viz was 60-80. Lots of fish life. We dove the Atlas tanker and the Carribsea on Saturday and the Papoose and the Spar on Sunday. Water temp was mid 80's on the surface, and lowest was about 73 on the bottom. Andy |

Looks like I might be heading back to Houston in a month or so... The contract up here in Cedar Rapids is probably going to end in the latter part of August... I guess I won't get to experience a Iowa winter... Bummer... I really had my hopes up that I would get a chance to truly freeze my 'nads off... <grin> > Heading to Travis in a little bit. If things go right, maybe the Guadalupe will be a bit more interesting for tubing.... |

Surface temp was around 80, it was 74 at 40 feet and 68 at 60. Don't know what it was below 70, I was only wearing a 3 mm shorty and a hood. After going to 70, going back to 30 was so hot I had to open the wet suit. My buddy said he though about peeing in his just to get some colder water in it. -- dillon Linux, it's not just an OS, it's a way of life. And a damn fine one, at that. |

Yeah, last time I was there, we had to tie our gear off to the side of my boat and put it on in the water because we were getting so close to heatstroke just putting our wetsuits on while in the boat... I don't remember a depth where it was comfortable... It went from way to hot to way to cold for a 3mm full suit in just a few feet... Don't remember the actual depth where it changed -- probably around the 40-50 ft level... On top of that, it gets rather dark down there... We had thought that we might be able to find the sunken town that is supposed to be near one of the islands (don't remember the name of the island -- Stearn's, perhaps?)... As we follow the anchor line down, we start going through this surreal scene of old dead trees that you can't see until your right in the middle of them... Even with my HID light, it was dark... Once we got down below the thermoclime, we decided to turn the dive because we weren't able to see anything and it was too damn cold... Spent the rest of the day drinking beer and running up and down the lake in my boat... |

Amazingly, it's still at around 670 in July. -- dillon Linux, it's not just an OS, it's a way of life. And a damn fine one, at that. |
