They have a bit of shore diving in Cozumel, but it's not the same
calibre you had in Bonaire. In fact, the only place in the Caribbean
I've been to that has the same calibre of shore diving as Bonaire is
Curacao.

If you're looking for a short stroll and a jump, have you considered a
liveaboard?
