It's confusing I think Nuevo Progreso is on the MX side. and Progreso is on the US side. or the other way around. Everybody calls it Progreso. I see what your talking about though. There's a Progreso down on the Yucatan. Sorry for the confusion. Anyway, my thoughts of driving through Mexico were short lived. If I go to the Yucatan area, it will be via air. I've got a friend in Florida that took the ferry from Tampa. He's big into caving. His group took their own cars and gear. It was a real expedition. |

Last time I checked on it, the ferry service had been discontinued. Had thought about that myself. Not that bad a drive from Dallas to Tampa and Merida to Playa is all good roads and only a few hours. |
