One of the Caribbean's best kept secrets, you will soon discover why
Montserrat is "The way the Caribbean used to be". Undiscovered, uncrowded,
unhurried and UNBELIEVABLE!!

Could it be, perhaps, that there's a volcano there that damned near wiped
out the entire island?

Lee

Interesting day trip though. The scale of the destruction is pretty
impressive. We went around some of the old buildings including a hotel
where the pool was filled with ash and everything was pretty much as it
had been left on the day it was evacuated.

And an awful lot of the island wasn't affected, just the main town
unfortunately. Don't know what the diving was like though.

Couldn't have been that good, otherwise I would remember reading about
it in Skin Diver.

MNI used to be my favorite island. Super friendly people, the
waterfall, charming town, amazing views and the best local food. It's
incredible the changes since 95...sigh..
