| Chez Lucille, in my opinion is still the Best restaurant on Bonaire. Was there on Saturday and had a great meal. It features French, Asian and Indian food serviced in a garden setting. |

| We like a small local place in town called the Mona Lisa. Ed NJdiver wrote: >Chez Lucille, in my opinion is still the Best restaurant on Bonaire. Was there >on Saturday and had a great meal. It features French, Asian and Indian food >serviced in a garden setting. > > |

Depends a lot upon what you're looking for- but I'll preface by saying I've not yet dined there. We thoroughly enjoyed a shack out in the scrub, ENE of town, next to the cricket/ball fields. You could "pick your own goat" like any of the fancy Lobster places in NYC. Also found a locals place, just ESE side of the town that served stews (goat & ?) cafeteria style. In town there was one restaurant that served the Balinesian Ristaffel (Rice Table sp?) that was a delight. On the South edge of town was Maiky Snak- excellent breakfast coffee and pasty pies for breakfast. That's where all the cabbies seemed to eat. Different experiences for different tastes. Either way- if you go hungry on Bonaire, you simoply just weren't trying. doc |

| I second Mona Lisa. For 20,00 NAFL you can dine in the bar for a lovely meal. I was there last week with my 11 year old and the bar was quiet and the food unreal. 36.00 USD with tip for drinks, bread with tapenade and lovely garlic spread and choice of two entrees with gratinee potatoes. YUMMY. Chez Lucille has great food and a magical setting but it is the ONLY place in my 40 something years I did NOT tip and will never go back. A year ago the service was consistently worse than poor. I have no clue now as it's on my boycott list. Living there I have to dine cheap so email me if you want to scoop on local eats.
