If you're going diving with a group and not on your own and you don't plan
many dives, rent. If you have downloadable information from a specific dive
computer you can take that with and use it with rental equipment. If it's a
dive vacation and that's all you're going to do it's customary to bring your
own equipment - but not required. Hauling dive equipment when you're
traveling is a burden and if you're not going to use it it's just a waste of
time and effort to haul it around and care for it.

WTF? For 99.99% of all the divers in the world there is no other reason
to own dive equipment. I happen to be in the 0.01% who live at a dive
destination and dive every weekend and I would never, ever even think
of going somewhere without my dive equipment.

If you're not going to dive it why would you ever own it?

This is one of the most patently ridiculous questions I ever read.

What are your thinking? Of *course* you should take your own equipment.

Hello,

Most folks bring their own computers and regulators. You can rent skins
and flippers here. Keep in mind AA has a 50# weight limit on gear and
the smaller airlines 44#.

We have many reputable dive shops who can assist. That's what Bonaire
is all about next to windsurfing eh?
