Default Bonaire Dining Review

For your after diving pleasure:

Good Day From Bonaire,

Last night I took friends to El Fagon, a local Columbian restaurant on
Nikkiboko Zuid (winding Sorobon Road). It is minutes from Lisa Gas and
Warehouse. There were 7 of us. We sat outside and were cared for well
by the mostly Spanish speaking wait staff.

We had two decent bottles of Merlot. We asked for a pitcher of ice
water and it was replenished twice. El Fagon features homemade sauces
including a delicious Chimichurri (parsley, garlic and olive oil), a
nice avocado sauce and pika or marinated onions. I use the two green
sauces on everything. YUMMY.

I had the shrimp in garlic sauce. It came with yucca and rice and
pasta salad. I asked for the yucca vs the potatoes. This dish was
wonderful. If you do NOT like garlic, do not eat this dish.

My table mates loved the snapper, the wahoo, the pork special and the
grilled chicken. This is a very garlic inspired menu so be forewarned.
It is healthy and wonderful.

The bill was 100.00 USD with 10% service added for 7. Of course I
tipped another 10% for great service.

I highly recommend El Fagon.

Directions from Lisa Gas on Kaya Industria. Continue past Lisa Gas on
KI to the end. Take a right and El Fagon is on the right.

Colombian cuisine offers tastes from the country of Colombia. Columbian
cuisine offers taste treats from north-central Maryland, central Missouri,
or South Carolina. It would be nice to know which area of the States they
selected for food offerings at your dive destination.
