Default Recommendations sought for Bonaire resorts

First off, my sincere thanks to everyone who weighed in on the
hurricane avoidance question that I posted last week. After much
debate we've settled on Bonaire.

Now, I'm hoping to get some opinions on which resorts might be a good
choice for a week's stay for three couples. I say resort, because
we'd like to be in a comfortable facility with a 'house reef' and
drive/dive packages. Ideally, we'd find a three-bedroom condo, but
that isn't a hard requirement.

Mostly, we want no surprises. I'd rather pay a few extra dollars for
a hassle free week.

Thanks again... Greg

Nearly everyone I've talked to speaks highly of Capt. Don's Habitat. I'd have to
rank that first.

I had a wonderful stay at Capt. Don's two years ago. The house reef
is fun and they have several boats going out each day.

Try the Belmar apartments. We've been there twice and enjoyed it. It
has all the facilities you require. Here's their link:

you might check out bonairevacations.com I have used them a couple of
times for really nice dive&drive pkgs. We are going in Nov and staying
at Windsock apartments for an excellent price on a D&D pkg with daily
boat dives you can see them at www.excellentbonaire.com hope this
helps Jim

Stayed at Buddy Dive last November - it fits your requirements. Nice house
reef, car comes as part of the Buddy package. The rooms incl a kitchen so
you can self-cater if you want. The only minus was that although the bedroom
had AC, the living area/kitchen did not.

I just returned 15 hours ago from Buddy Dive in Bonaire. We stayed in a
3-bedroom condo - Two bedrooms each with a private bath and a deck on the
second floor, one bedroom on the first floor with the bathroom in the
kitchen/dining/living room area. It was clean, well maintained. The fridge
was smallish, but it had a stove and microwave and a large deck off of the
first floor. The best part of the deal was that a four-door pickup truck
came automatically with each condo. A full breakfast, with eggs cooked to
order, was also included.

The house reef is quite good with easy entrance and large step exits, and
the boat diving op is good with one 36 footer - well laid out, and a smaller
30 footer, which was a little crowed with our group of twelve.

The other bargain was Nitrox at a flat price, $99 unlimited, for either I or
II, 24 hour availability. I did 18 dives in 5 days, so I made out.
Otherwise, Nitrox is $8 US per tank, and they have aluminum 80's and 60's
available.

We paid $725 US per person for condo, truck, unlimited shore and boat diving
and breakfast, with airport transfers. But this deal might have been time
specific. It was Saturday to Saturday.

Given your requirements, my experience at Buddy Dive sounds like what you
would be looking for.
