I would have looked at your profile too see what the master (baiter) had
to give as example but you, don’t seem to have a profile, if you can
explain what is wrong with stating I am an enthusiastic water person, I
am not ashamed of it as there are a lot of wana-bees out there, like
look at you, such a great profile, you don’t want to leave a link to
show the rest of the world,
So again as you put it,
“Goddamn this deeperblue.net. They found a way to get around their ban
from
The newsgroup. And now hordes of idjits will be descending on this
poor
newsgroup, replying in threads months if not years stale. I miss the
spammers and WebTV”

So lets be blunt the only thing that is stale around here is idjits
that are clueless,
& ashamed of them self so would be sarcastic to others & be afraid to
leave a contact details as people would reply to agree they are sad
lifeless individual

As for missing spammers, if you still need medication to get it up go
see a doctor,

Goddamn this deeperblue.net. They found a way to get around their ban from
the newsgroup. And now hordes of idjits will be descending on this poor
newsgroup, replying in threads months if not years stale. I miss the
spammers and WebTV.

You're on deeperblue.net, we're on the USENET newsgroup rec.scuba... We're
the source, you're just a copy... If you want to play with us, you should
come to *our* playground... <grin>

Ah, another bright-eyed innocent dives under the ropes and is now
swimming in the real ocean. And to add to the fun, he's kind of a cocky
little squirt with a bit of an attitude and a predilection for the
lower half of the bell curve.

Tell you what, Mr. KiwiBug, once you figure out which parts of the
reply were written by me and which were written by Greg, why don't you
carefully sort them out and forward them to one of the volunteers. I'm
sure they'll agree with you that we're not the kind of people you want
on DeeperBlue.net, and I'm sure they'll revoke our privileges straight
away. Once you've done that, you can return here and tell everyone else
how you've started to clean up the place. I'm sure everyone will then
cheerfully answer all your questions and share your newfound enthusiasm
for diving and spearfishing.

Cheers,

Alan

BTW - we never got "round" a ban because we never had one. We're not on
some vendetta against rec.scuba people. Why you guys are unable to get
on and want to encourage people in the diving realm I have no idea.

Despite appearances there are some reasonable people on usenet though -
one took the time to write a reasonable email politely asking whether
it was appropiate to keep allowing our members to post and see into
usenet.

Anyway - we're in the process of removing usenet from our forums as all
it does is seem to generate aggrevation on the part of both sides.

That would presumably also mean no OT posts (and yes guns, beer,
politics and religion would be OT), no personnal attacks or insults...
one might as well shut down the group.

Cheers,

Froggy

I do want to encourage people in the diving realm, especially from Deeper
Blue, to stay out of rec.scuba unless they can follow the simple rules of
netiquette. That means no posting to stale threads that are months if not
years old.

If I went on your dive boat, after you gave a "standard" briefing requiring
buddy teams, back on the boat with 500, safe "recreational depths", yada
yada, and then I proceeded to dive solo to 165', return to the boat with 200
psi, and then proceed to flush my MaxiMaxi tampon down your marine head thus
clogging it for the rest of the paying passengers and constipated crew,
you'd be pissed off too. Worse, I'll light a cigarette up at the bow next
to the green tanks, bring my extra super-duper sized Pelican as a dive bag
(for Jammer), and then fail to tip a dime even though one of the hapless
crew members lugged my gear from the parking lot and hauled it out of the
water for me when I was too weak to climb the ladder.

Would you want me back again?

It's definitely not appropriate, any more than peeping through your
neighbor's window and sneaking into his house when he's not home. If you
want to post and see into usenet, come in the front door like everyone else.

Another one bites the dust. Damn I'm good.
