No, you still don't quite get it... The phrase is: "Welcome to rec.scuba... Has anyone told you to fuck off yet?" Some people word the greeting as: "Welcome to rec.scuba... Has anyone been rude to you yet?" Around here, this is a polite greeting... > Well actually, No they haven't, & even if they did then Boo Hoo, I > wont loose any sleep over it as people are entitle to an opinion but > whether their opinion counts is another matter, & as for how long you > have been diving? Wow, a rather sensitive net-newbie here... How long have *I* been diving... Awh, hell, let me break out the fingers, toes, and whatever other appendages that I can find... Ooops ran out of them... Hmmm... I think it works out to be around 27 years by now... Back then we didn't have pens and paper, we had to use chisel them into stone tablets... Of course, there's some around here who have been diving so long that even stone wasn't invented at that time... <grin> > I couldn't actually care less; you probably spend more time trying to > brag about how long ago your first ever dive was, on sites like this, Hell kid, I probably have tanks older than you... > Now should I ask if any one has ever told you to fuckoff? Of course they have, it's a rec.scuba tradition... You've gone from one extreme of replying to the wrong message and attributing the comments to the wrong person to not even including the original message so no one knows which message you are replying to... Since you're obviously new to Google Groups, here's the technique that you would need to use: Instead of just clicking on "Reply" at the bottom of the message, click on "Show Options" at the top of the message and then click on "Reply" on the new line that appears after the message headers but before the message body... This method will include the text of the message that you are replying to so that you can then edit it for just the portions of the message that your are responding... Top posting is frowned upon... Not snipping the irrelevent text is also frowned upon, but unfortunately, a lot of people are lazy and leave it in there... |
