Where about's in NZ are you planning to go?

There are a few liveaboards but most sites are a short enough run they are
day boat trips. L/A's are normally either the Knights up north or around
Fiordland down south. Both Spots I'd reccommend.

Depending on where you are going? http://www.charterguide.co.nz/. (In
particular diving geared charters http://charterguide.co.nz/1_tnails.htm
Would be a good start...) If you are going to the knights two operations I
have had (great) experiences with are yukon and the pacific hideaway
http://www.yukon.co.nz and http://www.divenz.co.nz
