Yes, did it a couple of years ago. I'm not sure, but I think we flew
Braathens. Whoever the carrier was it was all arranged at the same time as
the Heathrow-Oslo flight, just ask your travel/flight agency.

What boat are you on?

Cliff.

Going on the Jane R, look a nice boat, some of the boys have seen her
in scotland.

Take SAS flight from Heathrow to Oslo and a Braathens flight to Narvik.
Bookable all the way through (for cheapest fare) with SAS.
Costs about £230 return.
Excess baggage is £7/kg single. Expect 10kgs extra free.
Airport is not at Narvik - if there are 12 of you book a minibus with a
trailer. About £15 each (takes about 1 hour).
Otherwise book a taxi before you go (don't expect one at the airport).
No facilities at Narvik airport (all closed by the time you arrive).
Take money with you.
You need a coin for a trolley at the airport - buy coffee in Oslo and keep
some small coins.
Diving is cold - 3-7C in June, take thermals and thick gloves - we were
getting 60-90min bottom times.
Diving is shallow (mostly 15m).
Viz is excellent - we were getting 20m.
Air diving, not gas diving.
The Black Watch is worth a visit, but it's along way by day boat (OK by
livaboard).
Beer is £5 for 1/2 pint.
Midnight sun is nice.
Trip up the mountain by ski lift is worth it.
Food is expensive (£5 small kebab).
Stay over an extra night and don't miss the last dive (about £50/pppn).

Cheers
Matt.

I'd be surprised if you find beer on board. Most of the UK based skipper
now adhere to the rule of not bringing beer into Norway, I think one of them
got caught a couple of years back.
