I have been to both places and would return to Sipidan before Palau. We saw
many more fish in Sipidan.

I've dived both Palau and Sepidan....Palau is justly famous as the diving
destination with the greatest u/w vis in the world some 300 feet, or 100 meters
is the norm at Peleliu (sp?) which is a long steam out there.

On the other hand, Sepidan is often cloudy and I've been told this by countless
other divers who've been there at different times. It certainly was when I was
there. The dive people were blaming it on Mt. Pinatubu in the Philippines that
was erupting at the time..but I'm told that they always come forward with some
excuse or another.

As "Chilly" says......you need to decide where your going to
stay.....Sipadan is out, but there is good snorkling to be had there if
your partner goes with you to dive there......
You would either stay on Mabul, there is a beach on Mabul so snorkling
would be ok there......and on Kapalai, the place is on stilts.....you
would get snorkling there also, good vis on kapalai, but also poor vis on
occasions....get your partner diving is my recomendation.....you could
always stay on my favourite place...."Seaventures" dive platform.....no
snorkling from there but......who cares, the diving underneath is the
best.....

I'll second that!! Especially around 4:30 pm when the bumphead parrots head
for the dropoff. Wow!! What a rush.

I'm not so sure about that, but maybe over at Sipadan Water Village (which
is actually located on Mabul) it would be OK. But I sure wouldn't try to
get a snorkeller too excited about it.

Yes Lee. You missed the SUBSTANCE of my entire post, and
especially this paragraph:

RF> Just a plea, on behalf of myself, and all those folks in
RF> rec.scuba.locations who would rather discuss something
RF> that have to do with scuba locations!

Folks, there is a Festival ongoing right NOW, in Scuba-SE
(all you have to do is to subscribe to it via:

http://raven.utc.edu/archives/scuba-SE.html

in which Lee Bell appears to be the subject/star of SPANKING,
by members of that group, in the new thread which was carried
over from Lee Bell's patented Mouth Dancing in the "A day for
visitors thread":

Edukashun (Was: Re: A day for visitors)

and this is how Lee shot his own foot in the latest exhibit:

As Lee put it so succinctly to Strike,

Lee> I've never been much of a spectator. If I can't do
Lee> it myself, I'm not particularly interested in watching,
Lee> or hearing, about others that can.

RF> That pretty much is a TRUE CONFESSION of WHY Lee Bell is so
RF> ignorant about so many scuba facts, priniciples, and physical
RF> and scientific Laws!

Not to mention Lee's inexperience and ignorance about DIVE LOCATIONS
outside of Florida!

RF> A dive report or two by you Lee, is a good start, to get you
RF> away from your incessant ARGUING, on empty.

RF> But, you'll be the same old Lee Bell unless you can CHANGE
RF> your attitude and modus operadi, as evidence in your own words:

Lee> I've never been much of a spectator. If I can't do
Lee> it myself, I'm not particularly interested in watching,
Lee> or hearing, about others that can.

It'll do you MUCH GOOD if you'll watch, hear, and keep your
mouth SHUT for a change, Lee!

BTW, why are you HERE, posting your vacuous post of my post
about Bob Crownfield, while MY POST, excerpted above is
waiting for your response in Scuba-SE? ) So are other
posts to which you have NOT responded, such as:

On posting dive reports,

Lee> Remind me if I forget.

ML> You would not need reminding if you changed your modus operandi...
ML> rather than focussing on responses that argue with others why not
focus
ML> on posts that share your diving experiences???

ML> Then you would not need reminding as it would be common practice
to post
ML> about your diving experiences, thus making this place more
interesting
ML> and possibly more educational for others and yourself.

Those comments certainly apply to Lee Bell 100% in rec.scuba.locations
as well!

-- Bob.

Nothing relating to locations there. Sorry, but your entire post was
nothing more than another one of your attacks on someone else. That's known
as the Pot calling the Kettle black.

Yes, I know I'm doing the same thing, but I'm not the one complaining.

BTW you have not been appointed as the spokesperson for rec.scuba.locations

I thought you were asked to leave Strike out of your rants in other forums.
Forget again, did you?

Lee
