My initial response was:

Alan Street
Magilla
mudshrimp

I was reading rec.scuba.locations everyday (and POSTING about
the Mardi Gras and my DIVING with Greg Mossman) during the
week I was in Cozumel!

Now it came to light, through google's "view profile" on Lee Bell's
noise making rec.scuba.location that Lee and his noisy gang
were busy in REC.SCUBA (which I no longer read regularly)

Lee Bell's latest posting profile:

>Borneo vs. Palau rec.scuba.locations 63 minutes ago
>florida getting ready for bent divers once aircraft carrier is sunk
>rec.scuba 66 minutes ago
>Borneo vs. Palau rec.scuba.locations 9 hours ago
>Borneo vs. Palau rec.scuba.locations 10 hours ago
>Hats off to Don. rec.scuba 10 hours ago
>Cozumel Trip Report rec.scuba 18 hours ago
>Borneo vs. Palau rec.scuba.locations 18 hours ago
>Hydro Test in South Florida rec.scuba.equipment 18 hours ago
>Borneo vs. Palau rec.scuba.locations 21 hours ago
>florida getting ready for bent divers once aircraft carrier is sunk
>rec.scuba 26

I saw Lee's pal Bob Crownfield (who had not dived a single
time this millenium OR posted anything SCUBA related, but
are always present in Lee's flock) in the "Borneo vs Palau"
thread and wondered what on earth he could possibly have
to say about those two dive locations!

So the thread "Bornew vs Palau" referred to Lee and
his pals FLAMING me, forging my posting name, and
polluted other newsgroups by posting their impertinence
to those newsgroups while ALL of the noise makers were
Lee Bell's gang in rec.scuba.

THAT was why rec.scuba.locations was so quiet, on topic,
during my week in Cozumel!!

What about Lee's participation in the thread "Cozumel
Trip Report" in rec.scuba?

That was precisely MY question when I saw it in Lee's
posting profile.

The "Cozumel Trip Report" was introduced by "Schmoe" and
its scuba content prompted terminated at post #2,
on Feb 25, by

Scott> All you Coz junkies need to buck up and come
Scott> dive the Pacific Northwest.

and the thread continued through post #32, covering everything
under the sun BUT scuba. That's rec.scuba -- which I no longer
read. It was only through google's "view proflle" on Lee
that I wondered what HE had to say about "Cozumel Trip Report".

This was it, below:

> "The former Beatle and his wife, Heather Mills McCartney, arrived
> Wednesday night in this fishing community on Canada's Atlantic coast and
> intend to land a helicopter on the ice in the Gulf of St. Lawrence

Lee> Apparently you missed it. We roared about this one for
Lee> a week, well, all us Americans did. At least some of
Lee> the Canadians see no problem.

THAT was why rec.scuba.locations was so quiet that week before
Lee and his pals (in that thread in rec.scuba) was busy in
REC.SCUBA, "roared about" the former Beatle.

Alan, that's why rec.scuba.LOCATIONS was so civil and quiet
because YOU, Bob Crownfield, and Lee were posting your
NON-SCUBA noise in rec.scuba!

-- Bob.

We weren't talking about rec.scuba.locations, were we Bob.
In fact, I've ignored quite a few of your posts here. Having problems with
Google, are we? That makes three times in one week. You're on a roll.
