| Addendum: Charter ops take terrible care of their gear, I sometimes can't believe the shit they rent out. If yer traveling and renting: Rent yer reg at yer LDS (hint that you might be in the market to buy) and take it with you. If the inflator hose is incompatible with the BC you get, rent just the inflator hose. It takes 30 seconds to change one out. Take some O-rings and a pick with you. If the O-rings in the rental tanks look fuzzy, put in yer own. Check yer tank pressure asap. A 700 pound fill is a bummer when it's discovered at the dive site. Take yer own pocketed weight belt with you, get yer lead at yer destination. Don't accept gear that ya don't like the look of. You may get a dirty look, but they'll always find something a little better. |
