Diving in the Philippines

Has anyone been diving in the Philippines who can recommend an area and
resort? I may have a week to spend diving there and would love to find a
place has large fish and wrecks...

Well, I see that it has been several months since you've asked this question. You may have already made your trip. For the benefit of those who may be thinking about it.... If I only had a week, then using the criteria above (wrecks and fish) I'd choose Puerto Galera.

I stayed at El Galleon and dived with Asia Divers on my first trip (May 2007). A top-notch place. A little more money than some of the other resorts, but worth it.

I went low-budget on my last trip (June this year) and still had a good time. Took my chances with the weather and went during the off-season. Lot's of places on the beach in Sabang that you can get for $20-25 dollars a night. I dived with Dive Dojo on my last trip. Check their latest prices. I went out for about $25 a dive average. Tanks, weights, boat, and guide included. Had a great time and no problems with the weather while I was there.
