| THE INCREDIBLE STORY OF MATT JOHNSON This morning on NBC's "Today Show" there was an incredible story about a man named Matt Johnson and his dream to SCUBA dive. I had heard about his quest through the DUI (Diving Unlimited & International) drysuit company's monthly newsletter but did not really pay much attention until now. Matt is a quadriplegic, has MD and requires a ventilator to breathe!! DUI designed a unique drysuit to accommodate his conditions and with the help of many dedicated divers Matt's dreams are becoming reality. Just recently everyone's two years of hard work allowed him to do an open water ocean dive in the Florida Keys! Matt's story makes new student diver's "issues" seem totally ridiculous. For those of us that are able-bodied it should serve as a reality check for how fortunate we truly are. Learn more about Matt at www.scubadivingdream.com but bring plenty of tissues because this is a very emotional story. Note to John- I am not advocating becoming quadriplegic. -- Popeye "A vacuum is a hell of a lot better than some of the stuff that nature replaces it with." - Tennessee Williams www.finalprotectivefire.com |

And I don't even like chicken wings or any other part of the chicken you might have to suck. I'm a breast man. It's funny that this started with my observations about cock fighting in Chuuk. Apparently those silly Chuukese use their chickens for more than just fighting. I guess they have to reward the winners somehow. It makes you wonder if they're not simply mentally deficient from hundreds or thousands of years of inbreeding on a tiny remote island, but that they could possibly have some chicken DNA mixed in their genes as well. |
