| The FDEP is about to renew the permit without having any remediation other than finally having the sewer plant agree to do testing. This is still a clear violation of the Clean Water Act, and the FDEP is pretty much trying to sweep the issue under the rug. There is more about it on this page: http://www.reef-rescue.org/permit_renewal_objection.htm On that page is a link to a pre-formatted objection with all necessary recipients included. When you get the time, would you please send off your objection? The link will only pull-up a normal email with your default client. There is nothing done until you press "send", so feel free to edit as you wish. The last account (delray.outfall.objections@reef-rescue.org) is optional, of course. We just want to have an idea of how many objections are sent. We won't use the addresses for any purpose whatever, but please remove it from the CC list, if it makes you uncomfortable. The state officials need to hear from you though, so please leave their addresses as they are. If you want to be added to our mailing list (news only) you can sign up from our web page http://www.reef-rescue.org. Using the mailto link above won't do it. These beaches and reefs belong to everyone. If you want them to be here for you and your kids, we need to take action. It doesn't matter what state or country you're from, nobody wants to swim in an ocean full of sewage, do they? Thanks in advance for your help. |

I just saw it was related and posted, you know how that works.....the more exposure the better, either way. It seems pretty clear what the legal situation is though, what the hell do DEP think they're doing??? Used to date a FDEP officer out of Port Everglades.....weird bunch! ;0) LD. |
