Uhmmm...Fishie......one more time..... The hijackers belonged to a terrorist group called Al Quaeda. Al Quaeda was based in Afghanistan, receiving support from the Taliban government. This is why we attacked Afghanistan. Bush, of course, gets criticized for not anticipating the threat from Al Quaeda, and acting pre-emptively to stop the attacks. Now, onto Iraq. We have what we thought was good information that Iraq was trying to restart his WMD program. We thought it was good info, the Brits thought it was good info, Clinton thought it was good info, Dashle thought it was good info, etc. Of course, we dont have weapons inspectors because Saddam kicked 'em out in 1998 or so. Anyway, rather than wait until Iraq completes 'em, we figured to take 'em out. Bush learned from history, you see. (A quick review of the period 1934-1939 can easily show the consequences of inattention/inaction). Also, take a look at North Korea. Dennis |
