| It's been about 3 years since I was diving out there, but my two penny's worth is: 1) Cape Town, a lovely place to visit, there are a few dive centres around. The one the club used was Table Bay Diving. If I was going back I would NOT use them - very hit & miss, 2) Aliwal Shoal (Umkomaas) - dived there with the whaler dive centre (www.wahler.co.za), had many a good dive and night with them. They will also take you out to Sodwana Bay (no wrecks - but very large reefs & fish). 3) Also if you get the chance, go out there for the sardine run, we caught the start of it. What a lovely site of 50+ dolphins swimming with you, along with a large number of sharks (more interested in the sardines than divers). Have fun diving out there. Let me know and I'll make some recommendations... Table Bay Diving has changed owners, so your future experiences there may be different. Also, the place in Umkomaas is "The Whaler" (www.whaler.co.za). rgds monty (based in Cape Town) |
