Default Estartit

Off on holiday with the family next week. Is it worth taking my gear
(diving)? Is there anything to see? and if so who should I contact in terms
of Dive school/guide?

Many thanks

Mark Orton

Been twice - once OC once CC. Worth going. Both times been at Easter, both
times had 12 good dives. Best diving is around the Medas Islands, scenic.
There is one wreck. Most diving 20m, couple of dives 40m if you want it. I
can highly recommend Calypso (http://www.grn.es/calypso/english.html),
cheap, nice people, very helpful, english. There is no HP O2 in Estartit,
but Calypso got me a J and only charged for what I used (about £10). Very
nice people.

Cheers
Matt.

Hi Mark, highly recommend Le Estartit, been there many times, have
friends out there.
The diving is without a doubt some of the best you will find in the Med.

Epecially around the Medas Islands which are a nature researve, as for
Calypso,
would not dive with them if I was paid too, but thats just my oppinion.

There are much better dive centres in Estartit then Calypso so shop
around.

Enjoy

I've also dived with Unisub. They were OK too. Calypso were better.

Why would you "not dive with Calypso if you were paid to"?

Cheers
Matt.

HI Matt, During a dive with them I had a minor diving accident which
needed an ambulance.

They charged my brother for the call they made to get the ambulance.

Thats why I will not dive with them if you paid me.

What stupid statement is that, no one in there right mind would agree
that its ok to charge someone for a phone call to get medical help,
in any situation, diving or otherwise.

Especially the £10 we were ripped off for, lets see what would happen
if the Cove tried that, or a dive boat. Its disgraceful that any dive
centre would
charge a person for calling an ambulance.

Lets just hope that when it happens to you the person who has the phone
doesnt
want your credit card first. I could never imagine that happening
anywhere
in the UK, dive centre or skipper.

So dont talk rubbish, I said why I would not dive with them and I dont
think that
its unreasonable.

May I, politely, ask what was the nature of your incident and whose fault it
was?
