Default Diving in Tenerife

Hi,

Thinking of a Winter holiday in Tenerife, and found a few dive operators
which looked good, (and not so good?)>

Any recommendations, in Playa de las Americas, Los Cristianos, or Los
Gigantes, (or anywhere else .

The sites I looked at were:

http://www.aqua-marina.com/diving-tenerife/ (look really good)

http://www.divingtenerife.net (just OK?)

http://www.divingtenerife.co.uk (look really good)

I can highly recommend
http://www.island-divers.com/

Nice people who care about their clients, unlike some.

I dived with an outfit at Las Galletas - I think they were
called Cita Del Mar or something. They were a French bunch
and had a large RIB which was OK. Viz was good but not a lot
to see.

I came back from Tenerife on Sunday (and booked today to go to Kenya in
May!!) and dived with Aqua-Marina for the second time. I first found them
through a recommendation from this group some 4 years ago. The management
has recently changed but the outfit is still top quality, great value for
money and friendly. It's great to see they have retained the relaxed and
friendly atmosphere together with the professionalism and high safety
standards.

I can't recommend Aqua-Marina highly enough, top staff and top diving.

Say hi to Madge, Rhona and Andrea for me from Craig!!!

If you want any questions answering, email me (or them).

Cheers

Craig

I'll be spending a week in November with Agua Tenerife Diving
www.tenerifedive.com run by Yvonne & David Taylor, a pair of ex-pat Scots
(but you can't hold that against them). It'll be the third time I've dived
with them.

They're the only operators, I've seen, that *always* have surface cover on
their rib.

They can also provide excellent, reasonably priced accommodation.

You pays your money...

Paul

I too have dived with Cita del Mar
http://www.citadelmar.com/plon_ten_ang.htm
and liked Philippe a lot. He is a good safe diver and a nice man. I was
by myself and buddied up with others in his party, but as the others
were French or Swiss, keeping up with the conversaition was tough at
times although he did include me.
If I went back to Tenerife I would certainly dive with him again.
Cheers
Graham

Nope, Los Gigantes Dive Centre, right next to the marina are also another
great centre, run by Nev & Sheila Woodrington.

Superbly relaxed, able to tailor the diving to suit your needs, and a
cracking sense of humour thrown in.

Far better than the centre I've just returned from in Malta!

I dived with David and Yvonne about four years ago when the company was
called Tenerife Dive club (or something similar) and have to agree that they
could not be more helpful in making accommodation arrangements, transporting
us to and from the airport at 3 am, and that the diving was well executed,
but there were drawbacks caused by the location of their premises. Their
shop was away from the beach with very limited parking nearby, so they
collected us from the apartment, drove us to the shop to collect the
equipment, then drove us to the beach where we waded out to the RIB.
Returning from the dive was a reverse of this process.

I had no problem with this arrangement and would happily use them again if I
were to return to Tenerife, but some folk might be put off by the lack of
independence and the need to carry kit into the water across a stony beach.
Having said that, maybe the change of name indicates a change of premises so
it is worth enquiring.

I went to Tenerife for an early season warm-up with fairly low expectations
and found it surprisingly enjoyable. Not up to Red Sea standards of course,
but more life than I expected, and more variety of sites. The food in the
restaurants was also good and cheap.

Cliff.

Nope, because I've been working for them! It's the concern of the PADI QA
department now
