You are talking complete bollocks.

There are no 'clubs' that organise diving on Tenerife, or in fact much
outside of the UK and Europe.

Most of the world relies on commercial dive operators, who have all the
facilities, i.e.. Boat, cylinders & filling, equipment hire, premises with
changing rooms & storage, LOCAL DIVE SITE KNOWLEDGE and yes they also offer
training and sales, but that's normal an you don't need to buy these from
them if you don' want or need them.

Before you go off on another anti-PADI rant, I am a UK BSAC & SAA club
trained diver for over 20 years, not PADI trained, and know the benefits
from diving with a good clubs but also the need for local commercial
operators. Just because a commercial set-up offers PADI training does not
mean that they are crap or will 'rip you off'.

BTW, I think you will find that the operator I mentioned are owned by BSAC
trained UK divers and their prices are no more than any other local Canarian
operator.

Why don't you engage your brain before opening your mouth or typing, that
way you would stay very quiet; a major bonus for the rest of us.

Mick,
Since you are familiar with tides, waves, etc. you'd probably like to
try those guys:
http://www.scubacanarias.com/index2.htm

I'd take a good 7mm semidry wetsuit.
