Sri lankan are a partner airline to Emirates.

Emirates Business Class check in at Heathrow a month ago:-

"Is this luggage ALL yours sir?"

"Err, yes."

"It weighs 94kg. That's too much"

"Some of it is dive kit, we get 10kg each for that, and that would be
an 80kg allowance......."

"And THIS box (yellow) weighs 33kg, we are not allowed to check that
in"

Shuffling feet sound effect.

"OK sir, we'll get one of our staff to carry it onto the plane for
you, only the baggage handlers won't carry anything over 30kg. Have a
nice flight"

Thanks Pete for the info, but we're not going business class. Thomas Cook
wanted in excess of £1,000 each for those seats. I'm going to try and
upgrade at the airport though.

Thomas Cook, who I shall never travel with again, who have changed my flight
details 3 times since Christmas, and have given me £600 compensation, and
have booked us into the exec lounge at LHR T4, have said they will pay any
excess baggage costs so I could pack a yellow box if I had one !
