Default How to add volume to my roots with Dove's Precision Volume?

OK, so I just bought Dove "Precision Volume" spray that is specifically made to lift & hold roots. On the directions, all it says is to hold can 6 inches from your face, and spray on your roots. I've tried that, & I'll try pushing up my roots, but they won't stay.

How can I make it work?
oh yeah & i don't want volume ALL over my hair, just at the roots, & my hair is very thin, & i have already tried using a "round brush"
