The Anderman sea has the best diving usually out of Phuket, Phi Phi, or Krabi. You will find that most companies/schools have a similar level of service. They all have full kit for hire. Probably Phi Phi is best as the travel time to the dive sites is the shortest. I have spent a lot of time on Ko Tao in the gulf of Thailand(200+ dives) Travel time to the dive sites is short to verry short. All the dive have been good though not fantastic the prices are usually half that of the Anderman sea area. I have been to quite a few places with less good diving. Over all if you have a reason to be on one side of Thailand dive that side, you will have a good time. -- >replace spamblock with my family name to e-mail me |

| At this time of year I think you're really limited to the Andaman Sea because of the Monsoon. I was diving at Phi Phi at the end of october. All the outfits charge the same price (they have an agreement), and mostly visit the same sites. We used Princess divers (http://www.scuba-diving-phi-phi.com/), who were very friendly and professional. They sorted out my wife's buoyancy problems and we came away with a nice DVD of some of our dives (including the Mantas). We paid around 1600 bhat for a two dive trip, including lunch (that's around 23 gbp), and some kit hire. Starting at 8.30, back at about 1.30. Trips to more distant sites were more expensive and took longer. There are some pics up at http://www.shiry.me.uk/phiphi.htm Feeling jealous already, Neil |
