Many times, good diving though not as good as Phuket / Khao Lak.

Just back from there (March 25~30 too short) and ADEX2005 (dive show
great video light) in Bangkok. The beach front resorts in Khao Lak have
been almost much wiped out however there is a lot of accomidation there
that was not directly on the beach and is fully avalable, empty and in
good condition. Some of the dive opperations were affected most that are
on the main road were not.

Khao Lak / Thailand in general does not want / need charity donations.
What the want and need is for people to go and have a great holliday
there and tell all there friends.

Right now you can get great deals on hotels and diving there. And have
the knowledge that you are helping those worst affected (in Thailand) in
the best most appropiate way.

Also the vis in the andaman sea is reported to be in the 30M range (best
ever). Few dive sights were affected by the Tsunami and those that were
had very minor damage.

Yep dived there, and there are loads of dive centres - good dives on
the northwest and north of the island (Chumphon Pinnacles v good - but
the best are south west points about 30 mins by large boat - excellent
sea fans and corals plus whale shark encounters in the right seasons !

We dived with Pro-Dive as they were professional setup and all gear was
v clean and well serviced.
