When children stop going to school and start working as soon as they're
able to carry a bucket I'll agree with you.

Oh, you might want to reconsider the benefits of being a British colony
too. Freedom and right to vote policies are far too liberal to survive.

Funny thing is, it's happening on an all too often basis these days.
Besides, the majority of those changes had more to do with technology
advancement than anything political. The children no longer "needed" to
work at the younger ages because of technological improvements, therefor,
they could attend school longer.
