| I'm thinking of a liveaboard trip to Thailand/Burma in February or March. Any recommendations or thoughts? Particularly with respect to the Ocean Rover versus the AquaOne? Thanks! |

I have nothing against AquaOne, particularly having never been on it, but I like the way Mark Strickland operates and having had such great trips on Ocean Rover have had no reason to seek other services. I return for a Thailand/Myanmar itinerary January 2004. |

| February is the last month of "dry" season and march starts the "hot" season. January/February are dry, mild temps and the water is at it's greatest vis though the wind is sometime kicking. March is also pleasant temps with calm seas, but the plankton bloom sometimes begin this month. January and February are a wash, one being as good as the other, and March has similar conditions, but the chance of plankton to crap up the vis. I would probably choose January or February were I you. Remember though, this is Phuket and Andaman Sea conditions, the Gulf of Thailand has very different weather patterns. I have not dived the Gulf myself, but I am sure there are sites on the web with that info. Try any boat or dive op that services the Gulf and you should find some info. I believe the Gulf is almost opposite of Andaman Sea because of the effect of the NW and SE monsoons but from personal experience I do not know. Mt Thai diving has always been out of Phuket and into Andaman Sea. > > > > > "Jatniel Juran" <nosp@m.com> 在郵件 news:ZPncb.419$%a3.82960@news.uswest.net > 中撰寫... > > February is the last month of "dry" season and march starts the "hot" > > season. | I'm going on the Ocean Rover the week before Christmas. I'll try to post a trip report.
