Default Diving out of Plymouth

Afternoon all,

Looking to run a club trip out of Plymouth later this year.

Possible dive sites (gleaned from the books and web sites) are (in no
order); Eddystone, Hands Deep, The Rutts, Persier, Glen Strathallan, Elk,
Poulmic, Totnes Castle, JEL, Maine and Scylla (!).

Anyone had particulary good dives on any of the above, or care to recommend
others I should be researching?

Thanks

David

You've more or less covered the popular ones there - Maybe add the Rose
Hill which is a bit further round than the JEL and in 35m.

There is also the wreck of the Lancaster bomber on the outside of the
breakwater, but I doubt anyone knows how to find it now (I used to have
a page on it, but it's long lost - did find an engine once!)

The Totnes Castle (if you can find it - it's very flat) is in about 42m,
and the Eddystone & Hands deep are down to 60m or deeper if you care..

And if your club is up to that depth, there is the Medoc (Half way wreck)
and the Glass Wreck.

And if the weather is really crap, theres the "habitat" by the fort
inside the breakwater, but it's very silty.

James Eagan Lane is a great dive, see wreck tour in April edition of Diver Mag.

Elk is v.good also but tidal.....

New wreck HMS Scylla will be available from Sunday. (Can't wait)

HTH
Garry.

Glen Strathallan is a good one, not that deep and visibility can be good
(sometimes) Superstructures in rag order but plenty of swim throughs.
