Mount Batten itself is reasonable & obviously scores high on the convenience
factor. The New Inn in Turnchapel is reasonable - good breakfast, good beer
& decent food in the evening.

I second the Mountbatten - fall out of bed, stumble down stairs, help
yourself to freshly cooked brekkie, stumble up to car, throw kit together,
fall onto boat, go diving...

....easy life.

And watching the sun go down from the bar with a post dive pint is rather
agreeable too.

Mount Batten Guest House... about a mile from the Mount Batten
Centre.. fantastic clean rooms with tea & coffee facilities..

had a double bed and ensuite shower room when I stayed there last
weekend.

Breakfast at any time from 5am - 10am (maybe not 10am, but I didn't
try to stretch that point).. although, only drawback was cold baked
beans and wasn't sure about the sausages.. but I was in a rush to go,
so didn't ask for them to be heated up :)

£25 :) There is cheaper on the other side of the water. Sish had a
place for £18/night.
