I'm sure you are going to get plenty of replies spouting rights and wrongs of Twin vs CCR, but how about doing a little soul searching first. Ok, so you have done 100 dives. I bet at least 20 were getting you up to being an independent diver. Maybe another 10-15 getting basic kit, drysuit/buoyancy etc. right. So lets assume you have 50 pucker, A1 UK dives. Is that right? Ok then how many were at 20m? How many at 30m? How many dives are you now missing out because you havnt got a twinset or a CCR. If the awnser is that you cannot now do the planned dives in your clique because they are going longer and into deco then fine. If you ae thinking twin & CCR simply because the rest of the boat has them, then maybe you need to think again. This tack may be entirely wrong and you may indeed have a genuine need for a twin or CCR. If so then go for it. But please dont be a follower of the latest fashion and get the rig that suits you and YOUR sort of diving. DIR isnt the only clique! TerryH Asbestos suit more than ready. |

Didn't spot any common sence - just your own perceptions, nor any arguments. Why shouldn't he get a CCR or two, just because he can? Why bother wasting compressed air, scaring fish and destroying wrecks in the first place and not go straight to a CCR? Your intuitive thoughts anticipated. /FAB |

My (honest) thought on that is that I benefitted immensely from getting the knowledge and experience from diving Nitrox and accelerating deco before getting a CCR. However that's just me and YMMV Laz ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A foolproof method for sculpting an Elephant: First, get a huge block of marble.
