Default Rescue Diver & EFR Course

So, I think that everyone was in agreement that rescue skills are something
we all should have despite the length of previous threads.

I also suspect that there are more than a few AOW's lurking on the group
without a Rescue Diver card. It is now time for you to speak up and
register your interest in getting together and getting it done, I'm thinking
probably late November/December. At the moment I just want a list of names.

If you were in two minds, read through the previous threads "PADI and rescue
skills", "People that don't pay on trips" (well, some of that one) and
"Should all divers carry DSMB". In there you will find out why you need
these skills as well as some of the UKRS "old-hack-core" using words such as
"worthwhile", "rewarding", "good" and "fun" about a course from PADI.

If there is a PADI instructor on here willing to take such a group then I
also want to hear from you.

I've already got two or three interested AOWs (thanks for the mail - you
know who you are!) but could do with more.

So emails to me quick-smart with any weekends you can't do.

Cheers

CAS (Calum)

I might be interested - Just been checking the cost today at MWW - £375 for
Rescue and EFR together an extra £25 if done seperately.

What sort of cost would you be talking about?

and why not try and do it in conjunction with a get together like
Icebreakers

Mike.

He he he...

You want to do it in January and provide a cabaret show
not a problem.

I'm sure there's plenty of willing victims here!

Just bear in mind though. Are you sure you
want everyone else watching you whilst you do it?

It is IMHO the most fun course 've done but it's also the one with
possibly the biggest scope for embaressing public cockup.

ie: my attempt to drop down to a rescue without changing the snorkle
for the reg. USSA* followed

*USSA: Uncontrolled Spluttering Swimming Ascent.

That's a horrific price for Rescue & MFA. Mine was £230 all in when I did
it, and I believe it still is....

whoops, I think I got the price slightly wrong,

it is £175 for RD and £75 for EFR (£50 if you take them together)

Mike.

Righto, I've had some responses so the page has now gone up, thanks to those
who've registered an interest and offered services.

And in a new departure, listed on the trips page, you just bagged UKRS
Course#1, wonder if they'll ever be a UKRS Course#2? ;)
