Default Red Sea December

I am looking to do a live-a-board in the Northern part of the red sea in
December. I am a bit worried about the temperature at that time of the year.
Can you please give your comments.

I got a minumum water temp of 23C on the Rosalie Moller (36m) during
the last week of November, and 24C pretty much anywhere else. I was
fine in a 5.5mm westuit.

I'm hopefully going during Christmas week, and will be taking the
same, with perhaps a 5.5mm shorty to go over the top if we decide to
dive with twins.

Last year in early January it was 23-24C. 5mm was plenty warm enough.
The main problem is when you get out of the water and are changing in a
breeze, that gets a bit chilly. Also the air temp drops when the sun goes
down so take something warn and preferably windproof for the evenings.

I'm in the Southern Red Sea in late November
but I'm taking the same old 7mm semi I always
use. It's a bit hot if you have to wait about
but it's been OK in the water every time I've
been before.

Yup, agree with that - at the risk of an echo... 5mm is fine for dives and a
light fleece & light cotton trousers/ sweat pants for evenings is all you
need.
