Default Slightly OT - Acrobat Question

Hi All,

I appreciate that this is slightly OT but it does have diving connections and
certain guys on here can always be relied upon to come up with the answer.

A number of the questions on the BSAC Instructor disc need amending but they
are Acrobat PDF documents - any ideas how I can amend them?

Do I need to by the full acrobat program or is there a simple (and cheap) way?

Thanks in advance

Andy

With any document that has been converted to PDF the easy to make
changes is to change the original and re convert.

If you have the full acrobat program you may be able to make changes to
the document depending on the security on it (the security can be set to
permit reading only).

If you do not have the full acrobat program or the original document you
may be able to make changes by using a conversion program that gives a
faithful copy in your editor of choice then reconverting to PDF

How easy the last is depends on the programs you have and the OS you use
and the complexity of the document.

For example on Mac OSX using a simple text PDF with no security pictures
or columns and the apps that come with the OS it is trivial and takes a
few seconds longer than the editing process.

1) Open the PDF in TextEdit
2) Save as RTF
3) Edit
4) Print preview and Save the preview

If you are not using OSX etrc. YMMV

That has been my experience.

Also correct. Presumably, those that have the right to change the contents,
also have the password necessary to do so. If the files were saved to PDF
format without a password and assuming that the original, non PDF version is
not available, the least expensive way to make the changes is probably to
find a friend who has the full version and enlist their assistance.

Go into the PDF of your choosen Exam.
Click on the abc logo in the toolbar.
Now press left mouse over page and sweep highlighting the text.

Click on right mouse and press copy.
Open a Word window press right mouse and click paste.

Your PDF is now a word document.
You might have to tidy it up a bit, but does the job.
