hi,
Yep you can I had some experiance but I also was given a huge chance too I
had no (zero) buisness skill, Some say still have none :)
But I was available and that is biggest key ...right place right time. be
there be willing to do the biatch stuff and you will work if not and think
that you will not stoop so low as to (insert meanial task ) you won't have a
job.
Plus all the points rasied all help but be there pay as little as poss for
the training as a intern learn and go for it.
best wishes Mark

Quantity isn't the same as Quality!

However Quantity does not mean a lack of Quality.
And a lack of Quantity does not mean high Quality

Since you are talking about one thing and I am talking about another
that remark irrelevant.

The diving for intemidiate to very advanced divers in the Philippines is
more interesting, I agree.

However there are many things against the area compaired to Koh Tao. to
name the most important to me, ease of travel, safty, local food
quality, cost.

In Thailand the education is equal, and opportunities to work are far
better and since Nick wants to fast-track through DM to Instructor
Quantity of students and divers to guide is far more important than
having the higest quality of dive site. To be good at either job you
need experience and to build that up quickly you need Quantity.

The dive sites arround Koh Tao while not in the top group are far from
the bottom. However where ever you are after you have been to the same
site 30+ times they all become less exciting.

FWIW my diving in the past 12 months has been Guam, Aus GBR, and coral
sea, Burma, &Thailand. and in the next 6 will be Philippines & Thailand.
