Default Stoney *shout* of 18th

My post of yesterday hasn't turned up so I'll try again.

Anybody know if the poor soul who was choppered out of Stoney today is OK?
It's the first *shout* that's happened when I've been there, and I and my
companions were very impressed with the rescue response of the Stoney staff.
It felt a bit wierd getting back in to the water that had just been the
subject of such an incident.

I was there as well, the last I heard of the casualty he had stopped
breathing again, and the ambulance didn't seem to be in much of a hurry to
get him to the helicopter. My thoughts are with his family.

Actually I spoke to the "casualty" on Tuesday and he is very well thank you.

I mainly reply to warn people to beware idiots like Andy Lee making uninformed posts.
(I wanted to be quite abusive there - but resisted the temptation)
If his thoughts really were with the family he should try keeping quiet when he knows nothing.
Maybe he was one of the idiots getting in the way of the ambulance near the air station as it tried to reverse out of the car park to get to the helicopter QUICKLY after the paramedics made their assessment, collected dive history and personal and incident details.

I could tell you what happened but that would only be feeding this ghoulishness.
Suffice to say that it was one of those blameless events when we can say there but for the grace of God goes any of us.
Thanks to good training, fast and effective response by his buddy and instructor, and the speedy response of both the Stoney Cove team as alluded to AND the ambulance paramedics the "casualty" is home and recovered, grateful to all those involved and hoping to get back to his diving soon.

Tony

Sorry Sven - not a regular user of newsgroup. It is just that a friend
pointed out the silly remark that prompted me to reply.
I gather that you think I should change my send settings.
If I have got it wrong I do value you letting me know but as I am
obviously not clever enough to get this right on my own and you sound
like a regular expert, a few clues would have been appreciated more than
just the cryptic hard on the eyes, however ..
I will try again because I feel strongly the point should be made clear,
and apologise to all now for if it doesn't work.
The HTML format displays OK when I look at it. Is there a setting you
can change for reading?.

repeated message in plain text I hope follows:-

Basically this group, as do most, specifies 'plain text'
and hence a lot of people do not choose an HTML compatible
newsreader as they don't have many news oriented features.

Turning off the HTML would be appreciated.

And many news servers filter all the HTML messages as spam.

Tony
No, I was not one of the idiots near the ambulance which is why I posted
based on what I was told on site (ie he had stopped breathing for 10 mins).
I am pleased that your friend has made a full recovery.

Andy
