| I have narrowed my choice to a SeaQuest QD+ SL, Scubapro Glide 2000 or Transpac II with rec wings. I trained to PADI advanced on dive school jackets but don't have the chance to try before I buy. What should I do? Brad |

The choice for the one wing system you included depends on the kind of diving you think you'll be doing. Should you wish to go down the travel or twinset and stages route, the wing would be more suited, certainly. I'd go for the Transpac out of the 3, as it's certainly a much more flexible system than buying the purpose built waistcoat style BC, manifested in the other 2 you listed. I liked the Transpac's clutter-free feel. The recwing is fine, but do consider the travel and classic wings instead, if you've not already. -- ferret "He leads me beside quiet waters ICQ 163264 He restores my soul" - Ps 23:2 "Follow, lead or get off the shotline" Make spammers pay... use CruelMail |

Divers dived for years without them. Simple so there's not much to go wrong, comfortable and well in you price range is more important than bells and whistles. Treat any special feature with suspicion. Expect the backplate gang to be along any minute. I admit I like backplates but only for a twinset. For a single I still drag out my poor old Scubapro Club (a long since discontinued model). nigelH |

| I too use a backplate for twinset/rebreather diving. For holidays I take a Buddy sport - reasonably priced at £200 ish. the jacket is built to a high standard feels and is very robust and I know that I will get good service and a fast turn around from AP valves ( I have in the past). It's also made in the UK. | One issue might be adjustability: A BC that fits nicew around a wet suit might be too small when you use a dry suit. I bought a sea-quest with no adjusibility on the belly belt.. and am now in need of something new with my wet suit.. It's got more than enough lift. In fact you really need to tighten up the gusset cord a bit with a single to reduce the wing volume.
