Default NEW NITROX VALVES

Hi there!

Does anyone know if it is possible to bye a manifold for twin tanks with 2
outlets with the new nitrox dimensions M26x2 anywhere.

And while we are at it an adapter going from male 5/8 to female M26x2 for
use with the compressor.

Jimmy :O)

Nope. Have you got regs to match yet?

I think Subaqua Products do them or at least the parts
to make one. They are listed as a Draager fitting.

I thought that the draager DIN fitting was just a fem fem din adapter

I could easily be wrong. I've only seen pictures
and one thread looks pretty much like annother
thread until you offer up a nut. 8)

They list a "Draeger M24 fem (EN144)" which might be
it or might be something totally different. I think
a standard DIN is old BSP not M anything.

They would be my first port of call as when I wanted
something wierd and they didn't have it they made it
for me.

I think it's unlikely that any DIN standard would use a BSP thread.

My understanding is that the thread on a conventional DIN regulator
is an M 24 x 2 male thread. The M24 Fem is probably the female thread
that the Germans insist on for nitrox (how stupid that is I leave as
an excercise to the reader).

I think it's a 5/8" BSP.
Yes I thought it was wierd too but that's what Germans
were using so that's what went in the standard.

Hi Jimmy,

It's my understanding that the new M26 spec will become widely available in
the next few years; and be enforced anywhere from 5-7 years. Aqualung,
Apeks and ScubaPro I believe are currently producing as specials both
replacement male M26 parts for regs and female M26 valves - but that is
hearsay currently.

It's unlikely that there will be an adaptor from the current DIN as
physically the dimensions between both specs wouldn't allow an insert
(unless it was extruded from the valve like today's A-clamp to Din) Then
you'd still have them poking into the back of your head....

For those of you slackers; EU regs for mixes other than air will require M26
valves on your tanks and regs in a few years time....

/F

Yup, both the Krauts and the Frogs use BSP fittings. Not that they'd
admit it....
