Default Tunisia

Off to Tunisia for a cheapy holiday, staying near Hammamet.

Has anyone dived around this area? Worth taking the kit, or just stick to
the pub?

Done the usual Google etc searches, but not a lot of reviews........

Cheers in advance..

Thanks for the link, although I had found that one...

Unfortunately the flight from Manchester has just been cancelled, so I've
switched to Agadir in Morocco. Once again, very little reference to diving
here - in fact it seems to be banned. If anyone does have any experience of
diving there it would be appreciated.

Quite fancy trying to fill a dive boat in Tunisia though and do a bit of
exploration next year - cheap place to go, and seems to be little dived
normally....

Well, Back from Morocco - and no diving to be seen There is apparently a
dive club/school in Casablanca, but nothing in the Agadir region - an old
Cousteau boat does shark fishing trips, but no actual diving in that area. I
would have thought there was some potential - the West coast of Africa can't
have been the safest place for ships, and away from the sandy beaches there
must be some life - although fairly heavily fished....

Still, a good, cheap holiday - and great weather!

Graham

Check Odysea diving school in hammamet, it is worth taking the kit, lots
of wreck diving from WWII, they are the best I've seen in Tunisia so far
(4th trip). they have a web site: www.odyseadiving.com

I just got back from the Odysea diving school and really can't fault the
place or its distractingly pretty instructor, Selim. His English is
perfect, and his patience is a virtue especially when it came to
teaching me the physics of diving (science was never my best subject). I
highly recommend Hammamet for top notch wreck diving. May 18th 2004.
