I have small marks in various places, rather than having my name scrawled across everything I own in huge letters. Usually where my stuff is put I can find it again - only if it goes missing or gets mixed up with other stuff do I need to look a bit more closely to see if the mark is still there. I usually have one somewhere obvious, and another well hidden so that if someone tries to nick anything and rub off the mark, they will miss the other one. For example, on my fins I have a mark on the bottom of the foot (in a slight indentation so it doesn't get scratched off as I walk around), and another inside the bottom of the foot pocket. None of them from any of my kit have rubbed off in nearly a year. The only thing i'd do it differently on would be on a DSMB for example, where its best that people can see some sort of identification so they know its you. David |

Does OK but gets scratched off easily. Whether it'd be safe for otherstuff I don't know - are there any chemicals that'll do nasty stuff to neoprene that are likely to be found in paints etc? I carved my initials into all sorts of bits of kit - the trick to getting it to stand out though is to use something with a raggy edge then get a permanent marker and go over the top but wipe it off before it dries... You end up with a nice, small and totally permanent marking. CAS -- PADI AOW? Get Rescue Training on UKRS Course #1 - http://divesite.calumscott.me.uk/ukrs/rescue_diver_2004 Temperature @ Stoney?
